Charged with Hate Crimes 08/07/2025 08:00 AM EDT A federal grand jury in Washington, D.C. returned an indictment yesterday charging Elias Rodriguez with murder of a foreign official, hate crimes, firearms offenses, first-degree murder, and assault with intent to kill, for the shooting of Israeli Embassy staffers leaving a reception hosted at the Capital Jewish Museum (CJM). Rodriguez had previously been charged by complaint with murder of a foreign official, firearm offenses, and first-degree murder on May 22. Former Augusta State Medical Prison Correctional Officers Charged in Connection with Inmate's Death 08/07/2025 08:00 AM EDT Former Augusta State Medical Prison Correctional Officers Charged in Connection with Inmate's Death 08/07/2025 08:00 AM EDT On Aug. 5, a federal grand jury in the Southern District of Georgia returned a two-count indictment charging former Augusta State Medical Prison Correctional Officers Robert Roberson and Marcus Phillips with violating the constitutional rights of an inmate by showing deliberate indifference to a substantial risk of harm to an inmate, resulting in his death.  The indictment further charges Roberson with falsifying a logbook to cover up his misconduct.

Соответственно, в связи с чрезвычайной ситуацией, вызванной действиями правительства Российской Федерации, предпринятыми против Украины, он вводит дополнительные пошлины в размере 25% на импорт из Индии, которые начинают действовать 27 августа, в связи с прямым или косвенным импортом Индией нефти из Российской Федерации. Этот тариф устанавливается в дополнение к любым другим пошлинам, сборам, налогам, удержаниям и платежам, применимым к такому импорту, за исключением случаев, когда это предусмотрено существующими или будущими мерами в соответствии с разделом 232 Закона о расширении торговли от 1962 года. Указанный тариф также устанавливается в дополнение к любым тарифам, действующим в соответствии с Указом президента № 14257 от 2 апреля 2025 года с внесенными в него изменениями, однако дополнительный тариф в размере 25%, установленный в соответствии с этим указом, не распространяется на предметы импорта, указанные в Приложении II к Указу президента № 14257. Министр торговли по согласованию с государственным секретарем, министром финансов и другими высокопоставленными должностными лицами определит, импортируют ли другие страны прямо или косвенно нефть из Российской Федерации, и при необходимости рекомендует Президенту дальнейшие действия. ПРОТИВОДЕЙСТВИЕ УГРОЗЕ НАЦИОНАЛЬНОЙ БЕЗОПАСНОСТИ И ВНЕШНЕЙ ПОЛИТИКЕ США СО СТОРОНЫ РОССИЙСКОЙ ФЕДЕРАЦИИ: Действия Российской Федерации в Украине представляют постоянную угрозу национальной безопасности и внешней политике США, что требует принятия более решительных мер в связи со сложившейся чрезвычайной ситуацией. Импорт Индией нефти из Российской Федерации подрывает усилия США по противодействию злонамеренной деятельности России. Последующая перепродажа Индией этой нефти на открытом рынке, часто со значительной прибылью, также позволяет экономике Российской Федерации финансировать агрессию. Устанавливая тариф в размере 25%, президент Трамп стремится удержать страны от поддержки экономики Российской Федерации за счет импорта нефти, с тем чтобы продолжающаяся агрессия Российской Федерации имела для нее серьезные экономические последствия. Руководствуясь принципом «Америка прежде всего»: Президент Трамп последовательно заявляет, что он не потерпит агрессии Российской Федерации. Президент Трамп также прямо заявил, что для Индии будут установлены тарифы в связи с покупкой нефти в Российской Федерации: "Индия не только покупает огромное количество российской нефти, но и затем перепродает значительную часть нефти на открытом рынке с высокой прибылью…. Из-за этого я намерен значительно повысить тарифы, выплачиваемые Индией США".
