On leur a dit : « Vous voulez mettre fin à la guerre ou vous voulez la continuer ? Si vous voulez mettre fin à la guerre, on peut discuter de ce qu'il faudrait faire pour y mettre fin de leur point de vue. Si vous voulez continuer la guerre, dites-le nous maintenant. Et ils ont accepté un suivi dans le cadre duquel nous allons envoyer des équipes de diplomates rencontrer les leurs pour discuter de ce qu'il faudrait faire pour mettre fin à la guerre. Si ce sur quoi ils insistent n'est pas réaliste, alors on saura qu'ils ne sont pas sincères. Mais on doit tester cette proposition. On doit savoir, et le président veut le savoir dès le début de sa présidence, si les Russes ont envie ou non de mettre fin à cette guerre. Donald Trump est un homme d'affaires. Le président Trump a conclu des accords toute sa vie. Il ne va pas se laisser entraîner dans une mauvaise affaire. Il ne va pas tomber dans le piège d'une négociation sans fin. Mais il veut être un artisan de la paix, pas seulement un deal maker, mais un artisan de la paix, et le président Trump teste les Russes pour voir s'ils sont sérieux ou non. La réponse à votre question est donc qu'on ne sait pas, mais qu'on va voir. (…) QUESTION : Une élection importante a eu lieu en Allemagne. Le président Trump a félicité le nouveau dirigeant présumé, même s'il faudra des mois pour former un gouvernement. Et tout ce que le président Trump a dit, c'est ce qu'ont dit tous les présidents, tous les présidents américains, au cours des 30 dernières années, à savoir qu'il s'agit de pays riches, en particulier en Europe occidentale. Ce n'est pas l'argent qui manque. Ils devraient l'investir dans leur sécurité nationale, et ce n'est pas le cas. Dès le début, vous vous êtes rendu dans six pays là-bas, en Amérique centrale et en Amérique du Sud. Il y a un message. Et il semble qu'il concerne nos frontières ; établissons des relations parce que nous devons contrôler notre frontière sud et vous devez contrôler la vôtre. Qu'avez-vous retenu de ces visites ? Nous devons avoir une capacité nationale, et c'est l'une des idées qui sous-tend les tarifs douaniers que le président cherche à mettre en place à grande échelle. News Alert: Trump administration tells agencies to begin conducting reductions in force

The White House is directing agencies to start the process of making even deeper cuts to the federal workforce by conducting large-scale reductions in force (RIFs). In a memo published Wednesday morning, Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought told executive branch agencies to begin developing "agency RIF and reorganization plans." Agencies are directed to submit by March 13 their plans, which would not only lay off employees but eliminate the position altogether.
