July 1, 2022 ADA Anniversary This month marks the 32nd anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act, landmark civil rights legislation signed on July 26, 1990, that works to increase equity and inclusion for people with disabilities across all aspects of American society, including employment. "The signing of the ADA was a milestone moment in America's ongoing quest for a more inclusive, equitable society, and it underpins our work in the Office of Disability Employment Policy," said Taryn M. Williams, Assistant Secretary of Labor for Disability Employment Policy. "Through policy development, outreach and technical assistance, we help workers and employers use the benefits and protections the law enables to build more diverse, inclusive, equitable and accessible workforces." Read more about the ADA and ODEP Request for Information on Current Population Survey Disability Supplement 2024 The Department of Labor is seeking information from the public regarding a supplement to the Current Population Survey on disability employment issues, which will be conducted by the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Census Bureau; it is expected to be fielded in 2024. The department is publishing this Request for Information to gather information to aid in revising this CPS Disability Supplement and to inform its general disability employment research agenda.
