Adam O'Dell,
Chief Investment Strategist

“A billion dollars isn’t what it used to be.”

I always get a kick out of that quote. Bunker Hunt said it after he lost most of his fortune in a silver trade gone bad.

Mr. Hunt was ahead of his time. Today, when the largest tech firms’ market capitalizations measure in the trillions, a billion dollars really isn’t what it used to be.

Cathie Wood, the CEO of Ark Invest, believes that one new technology will create $80 trillion in market value over the next 10 years.

So, what's this $80 trillion opportunity?

We’re talking about artificial intelligence (AI).

2 Ways to Play the Small-Cap Bear Market

Small-cap stocks have taken a beating in recent months. At Thursday’s close, the Russell 2000 Index was more than 17% below its 52-week high.

While the Russell 2000 is the most popular small-cap index, there is an alternative. The S&P 600 is also a small-cap benchmark.

Both indexes deliver similar gains, but they have diverged recently. Explaining the difference in performance is easy.

Just look at today’s chart.
