NBA Playoffs:
Spurs @ Thunder, Game 1—8:30 p.m. ET; NBC, Peacock
The Western Conference finals begin tonight, and ohhhh boy, they should be good. Will the Spurs get out to an early series lead on the road, or will the Thunder set the tone with a decisive home court win? As a reminder, these teams met five times during the regular season (including the NBA Cup), and San Antonio won four of those contests.
NHL Playoffs:
Canadiens @ Sabres, Game 7—7:30 p.m. ET; ESPN
Hockey Game 7s just hit different. The winner of this sure-to-be-incredible Montreal-Buffalo tilt will advance to the Eastern Conference finals, where they’ll play the Carolina Hurricanes. As devoted newsletter readers already know, I will be rooting for Buffalo, considering their turnaround this season.
WNBA:
Mystics @ Wings—8 p.m. ET; Peacock, NBC Sports
The Wings will be looking to snap a two-game losing streak when they host the Mystics (who are probably still flying high after an overtime win vs. the Fever) on Monday night. Look out for Sonia Citron, who has been a scoring machine for Washington, as well as Paige Bueckers and Arike Ogunbowale for Dallas.
MLB:
Guardians @ Tigers—6:40 p.m. ET; FS1, MLB.TV
On the nationally broadcast front, we’ve got Guardians-Tigers, during which Detroit will be looking to regain some momentum following a tough series vs. Toronto, and the AL Central-topping Cleveland will look to keep the good vibes going after outclassing Cincinnati two games to one.
That’s all I've got for you today, but I'll see you bright and early tomorrow.
