| Learn to think like a patent examiner Join us for the Stakeholder Training on Examination Practice and Procedure (STEPP) happening March 23-26 from noon to 4:15 p.m. ET. This virtual agent-attorney four-day course will focus on how examiners review patent applications according to the Manual of Patent Examining Procedure (MPEP). Please submit an interest form to attend. You must meet certain criteria, one being that you are a patent agent or attorney licensed and registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). You are expected to complete pre-course homework, including reviewing several computer-based training modules and reading resource materials. Similar to the training of new USPTO examiners, all sessions will focus on a sample patent application. Interest forms will be considered until Friday, March 20, or when capacity is reached. If your request to participate in STEPP is approved, we'll email you instructions to complete registration. Continuing legal education (CLE) credit will not be offered.
