Illegal Alien Sentenced to Federal Prison for Unlawfully Possessing a Firearm 03/18/2026 08:00 AM EDT Pensacola, Florida – Juan De La Cruz Mejia Castro, 33, of El Salvador, was sentenced to ten months in federal prison after pleading guilty to possessing a firearm as an alien unlawfully in the United States. Honduran National Sentenced to Federal Prison for Aggravated Identity Theft and Associated Fraud Charges 03/18/2026 08:00 AM EDT Tampa, FL – Cristian Daniel Diaz-Garcia (age 27), an illegal alien from Honduras, has been sentenced by U.S. District Judge Steven D. Merryday to three years and two months in federal prison for aggravated identity theft, false representation of a Social Security number, and making a false claim of United States citizenship for employment purposes. United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe made the announcement.  Illegal Aliens from Guatemala and Honduras Sentenced for Re-entering the U.S. Without Authorization 03/17/2026 08:00 AM EDT Two Guatemalans and a Honduran have been sentenced for illegally entering the United States after being previously deported from the country. Upon completion of their sentences, they will be subject to a detainer from United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement and will be taken into administrative immigration custody for removal from the U.S. Criminal Alien Sexual Predator from Mexico Sentenced for Illegally Reentering the Country 03/17/2026 08:00 AM EDT Pensacola, Florida – Marco Olavarrieta-Beranza, also known as "Marco Leonardo Olavarrieta," 45, of Mexico, was sentenced to twenty-seven months in federal prison after pleading guilty to illegal reentry of a removed alien.  Former Assad-Era Syrian Prison Chief and Governor Found Guilty of Torturing Inmates then Lying About It to U.S. Immigration Officials 03/16/2026 08:00 AM EDT A former Syrian government official who was the head of one of that nation's major prisons was found guilty by a jury today of torturing Syrian inmates at Adra Prison in Damascus then later lying about it to United States immigration officials, fraudulently obtaining a green card and attempting to naturalize as a U.S. citizen.  Nicaraguan National Sentenced to Federal Prison for Forcibly Resisting Federal Agents in Extended Struggle During Immigration Arrest 03/16/2026 08:00 AM EDT Tampa, Florida – Denis Napoleon Corea-Miranda (22) has been sentenced by U.S. District Judge Thomas Barber to one year and six months in federal prison for forcibly resisting, opposing, or impeding federal officers. Corea-Miranda pleaded guilty on December 2, 2025. U.S. Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe made the announcement. Brazilian National Pleads Guilty to Conspiracy to Obtain Driver's Licenses for Illegal Aliens 03/16/2026 08:00 AM EDT BOSTON – A Brazilian national illegally residing in Boston pleaded guilty on March 6, 2026, to conspiring to obtain driver's licenses for ineligible applicants, principally illegal aliens.   Guatemalan National Sentenced to four Months in Prison for Illegal Reentry 03/16/2026 08:00 AM EDT BOSTON – A Guatemalan national has been sentenced in federal court in Boston for unlawfully reentering the United States after deportation. Twice-Convicted Criminal Alien Pleads Guilty to Illegally Reentering the Country 03/16/2026 08:00 AM EDT Pensacola, Florida – Jose Francisco Santizo-Perez, also known as "Jose Mynor Castillo Lazaro," 41, a Guatemalan national, pleaded guilty in federal court to illegal reentry by a removed alien.
