| Department of Justice (DOJ) Deputy Inspector General Performing the Duties of the Inspector General William M. Blier announced today the release of a report on two grants totaling $2,034,068 awarded to Oklahoma State University (OSU) in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Office of Justice Programs (OJP) awarded these grants between 2021 to 2022 for the purpose of creating Internet of Things resources for law enforcement, public safety officers, and prosecutors, and developing strategies and prevention programming related to opioid abuse. As of April 2025, OSU received $1,337,397 of the total grants. The DOJ Office of the Inspector General (OIG) found that OSU had adequately achieved the grant goals. However, the OIG identified areas for improvement related to performance reports and budget management. The OIG also identified $292,977 in questioned costs related to unallowable subrecipient, personnel, fringe benefit, youth advisory board, and indirect cost expenditures. The OIG made five recommendations to OJP to improve OSU's management of award performance. OJP agreed with all five recommendations. OSU also agreed with the five recommendations. | | | You are receiving this message because you are subscribed to OIG Reports - Office of Justice Programs (OJP) for U.S. Department of Justice.
