Texas Man and His Romantic Partner Sentenced to Prison for their Roles in Harming Elderly Victims Through A Romance Fraud Scam 01/20/2026 07:00 AM EST A Texas man was sentenced on January 15, 2026, to five years in prison and three years of supervised release for his role in a romance fraud scam in which he received money from elderly victims, including from New Jersey, and then transferred the money abroad, primarily to Ghana.
