Tuba City Man Sentenced to 23 Years in Prison for Second Degree Murder 01/06/2026 07:00 AM EST Brandon Hyden, 40, of Tuba City, Arizona, was sentenced Dec. 16, 2025, by U.S. District Judge Diane J. Humetewa to 23 years in federal prison followed by five years of supervised release for Second Degree Murder, and five years in prison followed by three years of supervised release for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, to be served concurrently. On Jan. 26, 2025, Hyden murdered an unarmed victim by shooting him six times in a parking lot at a business in Tuba City, Arizona. Approximately thirty minutes later, Hyden shot another unarmed victim four times in a residential area within the Tuba City limits, who survived after intensive medical treatment. District of Arizona Charges 135 Individuals for Immigration-Related Criminal Conduct this Week 01/05/2026 07:00 AM EST During the week of enforcement operations from Dec. 27 through Jan. 2, 2025, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Arizona brought immigration-related criminal charges against 135 individuals. Specifically, the United States filed 75 cases in which aliens illegally re-entered the United States, and the United States also charged 52 aliens for illegally entering the United States. In its ongoing effort to deter unlawful immigration, the United States filed 8 cases against 8 individuals responsible for smuggling illegal aliens into and within the District of Arizona.
