| Department of Justice (DOJ) Deputy Inspector General (Performing the Duties of the Inspector General) William M. Blier announced today the release of a report on three grants totaling $6,932,000 awarded to the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement (Louisiana CLE) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Office of Justice Programs (OJP) awarded these grants between fiscal years 2020 to 2022 for the purpose of compensating victims and survivors of criminal violence. As of September 2025, the Louisiana CLE drew down $4,778,732 from the grants we audited. The DOJ Office of the Inspector General (OIG) found that the Louisiana CLE's implementation of its victim compensation program was appropriate and in compliance with applicable guidelines. However, the OIG found errors in the Louisiana CLE's FY 2020 through 2022 annual certification forms that led to excess awarded dollars. The DOJ OIG made one recommendation to OJP to improve the Louisiana CLE's annual certification process. Both OJP and Louisiana CLE agreed with our recommendation. | | | You are receiving this message because you are subscribed to OIG Reports - Office of Justice Programs (OJP) for U.S. Department of Justice.
