Des Moines Man Indicted on Federal Child Exploitation Charges 12/12/2025 07:00 AM EST DES MOINES, Iowa – A federal grand jury in Des Moines returned a 13-count indictment Wednesday, December 10, 2025, charging a Des Moines man with offenses related to sexual exploitation and attempted sexual exploitation of children Former Soldier Sentenced to Federal Prison for Possessing Child Sexual Abuse Material 12/12/2025 07:00 AM EST COLUMBIA, S.C. — Matthew Valkinburg, 35, of Pueblo, Colorado, has been sentenced to more than seven years in federal prison after pleading guilty to possessing child sexual abuse material. Valkinburg was a solider at Fort Jackson at the time of the crime.
