Former Correctional Officer Sentenced to Five Years for Plan to Smuggle Drugs and Contraband into North Carolina Prison 08/06/2025 08:00 AM EDT WILMINGTON, N.C. – A Kenansville man was sentenced Tuesday to five years in prison, followed by four years of supervised release, for conspiring to distribute methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. On May 7, 2025, Dawan Dontra McKinzie pleaded guilty to the charges.
