Dominican National Sentenced to 10 years on Drug Trafficking Charges 06/06/2025 08:00 AM EDT Ery Rivera Palmer, 39, of the Dominican Republic, was sentenced today by Chief U.S. District Court Judge Robert A. Molloy to 10 years' imprisonment for possession with intent to distribute 75 kilograms of cocaine and three firearms. Dominican National Sentenced to Ten Months in Prison for Alien Smuggling 06/02/2025 08:00 AM EDT Omaily Sanchez Taveras, 36, a citizen of the Dominican Republic, was sentenced on May 30, 2025, by Chief U.S. District Court Judge Robert A. Molloy, to ten months imprisonment for illegally smuggling aliens. The sentence follows a two-day jury trial in which a federal jury found Taveras guilty of smuggling ten illegal aliens from St. Thomas to Puerto Rico. Brazilian National Sentenced to Seven Months Imprisonment for Illegal Re-Entry 06/02/2025 08:00 AM EDT Joice Iara Costa De Souza, a 28-year-old woman from Brazil, was sentenced on Thursday, May 29, 2025, by Chief U.S. District Court Judge Robert A. Molloy, to seven months imprisonment for illegally reentering the country after she had been deported.
