Open Ocean Trustees Begin Writing a Supplement to Open Ocean Restoration Plan 2 to Continue Deep-Sea Restoration The Open Ocean Trustee Implementation Group is drafting a supplement to Restoration Plan 2 and Environmental Assessment, which was approved in 2019, to continue restoration planning for Mesophotic and Deep Benthic Communities (MDBC) damaged by the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill. The supplemental restoration plan will evaluate alternatives to extend implementation of the current MDBC restoration projects.
