Dear Golden Opportunity reader,
You don't have to like President Trump to notice that he's focused on making deals. That's kind of his whole thing.
And part of his dealmaking this administration is focused on is giving America access to minerals — rare earths and otherwise. One such deal was signed between the U.S. and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) back in March.
If you've heard of the DRC, you probably know it's famous for two things: non-stop political and military conflict and massive mineral reserves — everything from gold to diamonds, lithium, cobalt, and more.
The deal may be seen as extractive or exploitative, of course, but the DRC has been exploited by everyone from European countries to China for centuries. This deal at least promises to offer the DRC some stability in exchange for mineral wealth that's already being extracted — much of the time through child slave labor. U.S. oversight could help push out child labor practices and bring security to the war-torn nation.
That's why we're now seeing major investment from some of the world's richest people. Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates have joined forces with other investors to deploy over $1 billion into the DRC for a lithium mining project.
But this news has huge positive effects for other investors. If Bezos and Gates are risking capital, the thinking is that the DRC is open for business.
There are dozens of mining outfits that have been exploring and developing properties for years in the DRC — well before Trump's deal. In the Golden Portfolio IV and the Golden Portfolio 10X portfolio, one such firm has been developing a mine in a gold-rich area for years.
Its property sits near Africa's largest operating gold mine. The stock trades at only a $75 million market cap but owns a gold mine worth $3 billion at $3,000/oz gold. It's already up 27% in 2025 and is massively undervalued by about 97%. Fair value for this company is 30 times higher.
This company is in both portfolios because I believe it's one of the best small developers with the strongest outlook for the coming years. I think it's an easy 10X from here — and the news about Bezos and Gates putting $1 billion to work in the same neighborhood is massively bullish for the DRC and this GPIV/GP10X stock in particular.
Best,
