Geof Smith is LIVE NOW with his take on the best way to handle volatility (Hint: avoid it altogether) Join the FREE LIVE room and get all the details! Hey y’all, I think this is one of the most important charts in trading right now: The vertical bars on this graph represent days when the S&P 500 has made a move of at least 2% up or down, measured by percent of total days in the market. As you can see, that number for 2025 is highly elevated, currently sitting at 23%. That means that on average, almost one in four days has seen a market move of 2% or more, either up or down. This is the most elevated level we’ve seen since the chaotic markets of 2022 and COVID before that. Now, a lot of traders hear the word volatility and think it’s a bad thing. But that’s not necessarily true. Volatility is a neutral force that affects the market. It’s neither “bad” nor “good,” but it does mark a substantial change from the trading environment of the last two years. And for many traders who have started trading within the last two years, it means you have to change up your strategy and approach to focus on what works in these markets. This week, I’m going to be hyper-focused on bringing you tips, tricks, and strategies that help you navigate volatility directly from our experts. I’ll be asking them for their top ideas for navigating volatility, how you should change up your trading approach, and, maybe most importantly, the biggest mistakes to avoid. Volatility is here to stay, so it’s time to put your goggles on. Don’t think of it as a good or bad thing — think of it as the new reality that you have to navigate. We’re here to help you do that. ![]() Stephen Ground Editor-in-Chief, ProsperityPub P.S.: One way to navigate volatility well is to trade assets that aren’t as susceptible to it — that’s what Geof Smith is doing, and he’s sharing his strategy today at 3pm ET.
