Hires and total separations rates unchanged in February 04/03/2025 In February, the numbers and rates of hires and total separations were unchanged from the prior month. There were 5.4 million hires and 5.3 million separations in February 2025, for a hires rate of 3.4 percent and a separations rate of 3.3 percent.The number of hires was little changed in all industries over the month, while total separations increased in state and local government education (+32,000) and in federal government (+11,000).
