Public hearing on WIPO Treaty on Intellectual Property, Genetic Resources, and Associated Traditional Knowledge Virtual and in person on April 29 Join us for a public hearing on the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Treaty on Intellectual Property, Genetic Resources, and Associated Traditional Knowledge (GRATK Treaty). This event will take place on Tuesday, April 29, from 9 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. ET virtually and in person at the USPTO headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia. If necessary, the hearing will continue on April 30. The GRATK Treaty was adopted by WIPO member states on May 24, 2024. The USPTO published a Federal Register Notice (FRN) on January 17, 2025, soliciting input from the public on whether the U.S. should sign and implement the treaty. This hearing offers another chance for the public to comment. To request to testify, email Michael Buckler at michael.buckler@uspto.gov by April 22. You can find the requirements for a request to testify in the January 17 FRN. |
