Trussville Man Sentenced to Four Years in Prison for Drug Trafficking 03/13/2025 08:00 AM EDT Convicted Felon Sentenced To More Than 15 Years For Narcotics Trafficking And Firearm Offenses 03/12/2025 08:00 AM EDT Tampa, FL – U.S. District Judge Virginia M. Covington has sentenced Lewis James Scott (36, Tampa) to 15 years and 1 month in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Scott pleaded guilty to possession of narcotics with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, but he pleaded not guilty to possessing the firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking. In December 2024, a federal jury found Scott guilty of that charge as well.
