Avoid Big Tech: Why Small Caps Are the Best Bet Right Now — and Nvidia Earnings Flow If you’re looking for the best opportunities in this market, forget trying to time the Magnificent Seven. Instead, focus on where the real growth potential is — small caps. The Russell 2000 (IWM) has been the most beaten-down index year to date, but that’s exactly why it’s setting up for a major move. These stocks are the most sensitive to interest rates, and with the possibility of rate cuts later this year, they have the most room to run. Why Small Caps Are the Better Play I’ve started building a $200,000 position in small caps because I see two key tailwinds: 1. Interest rate sensitivity — Small caps tend to move more dramatically based on rate expectations. If rates come down, these companies will have better access to financing, and that’s when you’ll see explosive upside. 2. Political tailwinds — If Trump wins the election, expect a policy shift that benefits smaller businesses. That means easier access to capital and deregulation, which could send small caps soaring. Most of these companies are in Financials (XLF) and Energy (XLE) — two sectors that have lagged behind but are primed for a breakout when the market rotates out of defensive plays.
