View Online IMMEDIATE RELEASE Readout of Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth's Meeting With the United Kingdom's Secretary of State for Defence John Healey Feb. 13, 2025 Pentagon Press Secretary John Ullyot provided the following readout: On February 12, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth met with his United Kingdom counterpart, Secretary of State for Defence John Healey at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. The two Secretaries discussed the UK-hosted Ukraine Defense Contact Group that followed their meeting that day and the need to set the stage for negotiations to stop the fighting and reach an enduring peace. Ahead of Thursday's NATO Defense Ministerial, the two leaders also highlighted the need for increased Allied defense investments and greater burden-sharing by European Allies.
