Highlights are below. 7.9 percent of people who worked or looked for work experienced unemployment in 2023 01/06/2025 The work-experience unemployment rate (those looking for work during the year as a percentage of those who worked or looked for work during the year) increased by 0.3 percentage point to 7.9 percent in 2023. The rate reached an all-time low in 2022 at 7.6 percent, the lowest since publication began in 1958. HTML
