The U.S. Department of Justice recently announced the opening of the FY 2025 Coordinated Tribal Assistance Solicitation (CTAS) period. The funding under this initiative is available to assist American Indian and Alaska Native communities in the areas of crime prevention, victim services and coordinated community responses to violence against native women.
The notice of funding opportunity contains details about available grants and describes how federally recognized American Indian and Alaska Native tribal governments and tribal consortia can apply for funding. Several important updates have been made to the funding opportunity this year. A new Purpose Area 5: Adult Tribal Treatment Courts has been added for a total of eight (8) Purpose Areas available. Additionally, the application process has been simplified for FY 25. Instead of attaching written narrative documents as required in previous years, applicants will provide answers to questionnaires directly in JustGrants to cover the information that was previously described in the Tribal Community and Justice Profile and Purpose Area Narrative documents.
We encourage eligible applicants to carefully review the solicitation and take advantage of the training and technical assistance resources available to guide them through the application process. The Department of Justice hosts an annual webinar series to help guide applicants through the application process.
The series will begin on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 1pm ET. Information on the webinar series and links to registration can be found at FY25 CTAS Webinar Schedule. Dates and times are subject to change. All webinars will be recorded and posted on the CTAS Resources page when ready.
