A Utah man has been charged with allegedly assaulting law enforcement and other offenses related to his alleged conduct during the Jan. 6, 2021, breach of the U.S. Capitol. His alleged actions and the actions of others disrupted a joint session of the U.S. Congress convened to ascertain and count the electoral votes related to the 2020 presidential election.

A federal jury in Central Islip today convicted Michail McKen of two counts of sex trafficking by force and two counts of interstate prostitution in connection with a sex trafficking business he operated in Suffolk and Nassau Counties, New York, Virginia, Arizona, Massachusetts and elsewhere.

Tampa, Florida – United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg announces the  unsealing of a criminal complaint charging Ron Yarde (23, Hillsborough) with conspiracy to commit Hobbs Act robbery. If convicted, Yarde faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison. Yarde is the second individual charged in connection with these offenses. His alleged accomplice, Malcolm Green, was indicted on September 12, 2024, and is currently pending trial. If convicted, Yarde faces a minimum sentence of seven years, up to life, in federal prison.

Damian Williams, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced today the guilty plea of DAQUAN SEYMOUR, a supervisor at the Horizon Juvenile Center ("Horizon"), a secure detention center for juveniles located in the Bronx, New York, in connection with his beating of a 16-year-old resident at Horizon ("Minor Victim-1"), and attempt to cover-up the beating, on April 25, 2022.

His actions and the actions of others disrupted a joint session of the U.S. Congress convened to ascertain and count the electoral votes related to the 2020 presidential election.

Tampa, Florida – U.S. District Judge Steven Merryday has sentenced Francisco Cabrera (29, Dover) to 38 years in federal prison for robbery, carjacking, attempted murder, and possession of a firearm as a convicted felon. Cabrera entered a guilty plea on December 1, 2023.

Newly returned indictments in the Southern District of Georgia include felony charges for illegal firearms possession, while additional defendants have been sentenced to federal prison or await further proceedings after pleading guilty to federal gun charges.
