Highlights are below. New data on contingent work and people in alternative employment arrangements available 11/08/2024 In July 2023, 4.3 percent of workers held contingent jobs. The survey also identified alternative work arrangements: independent contractors (7.4 percent), on-call workers (1.7 percent), temporary help agency workers (0.6 percent), and workers provided by contract firms (0.5 percent).
