| Department of Justice (DOJ) Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz announced today the release of a report on two grants totaling $5,201,252 awarded between Fiscal Year 2021 to Fiscal Year 2022 by the Office of Justice Programs (OJP) to the Wyoming Office of the Attorney General's Division of Victim Services (Wyoming DVS) in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The OJP provided this funding to the Wyoming DVS as the State Administering Agency to make subawards to direct victim service providers across the state. As of January 2024, OJP had reimbursed the Wyoming DVS $3,026,002. The DOJ Office of the Inspector General (OIG) found that the Wyoming DVS used its victim assistance funds to enhance victim services in Wyoming. However, we identified deficiencies related to Wyoming DVS's recordkeeping for priority area funding requirements and its subrecipient monitoring. We also identified $93,696 in unsupported pass-through entity expenditures. The DOJ OIG made three recommendations to OJP to improve the Wyoming DVS's management of grant performance. OJP agreed with all three recommendations and the Wyoming DVS concurred with two of the recommendations and did not concur with the remaining recommendation. | | You are receiving this message because you are subscribed to OIG Reports - Office of Justice Programs (OJP) for U.S. Department of Justice.
