NEW ORLEANS – U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans announced that JUSTIN HEIMS ("HEIMS"), age 22, a resident of Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana pled guilty before United States District Judge Wendy B. Vitter on October 22, 2024, to federal drug trafficking charges.

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA – RONALD TAYLOR ("TAYLOR"), age 31, of New Orleans, was sentenced on October 1, 2024 to 82 months imprisonment, 3 years of supervised release, and a $100 mandatory special assessment fee, announced United States Attorney Duane A. Evans.  TAYLOR previously pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Sections 922(g)(1) and 924(a)(8).

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA – TOBURREN LINDSEY ("LINDSEY"), age 23, of New Orleans, was sentenced on October 22, 2024 by U.S. District Judge Greg G. Guidry to 18 months incarceration after previously pleading guilty to possession of a machinegun, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 922(o).  Judge Guidryalso ordered that LINDSEY be placed on supervised release for three (3) years and pay a mandatory $100 special assessment fee.

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA – HARRY BANKS ("BANKS"), age 23, of New Orleans, was sentenced on October 22, 2024 by U.S. District Judge Darrel James Papillion to 97 months incarceration, five (5) years of supervised release and, payment of a mandatory $300 special assessment fee after previously pleading guilty to conspiring to distribute Fentanyl, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Sections 841(b)(1)(C) and Title 21, United States Code, Section 846; conspiring to possess firearms in furtherance of  drug trafficking activity, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 924(o); and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 924(c)(1)(A)(i).

NEW ORLEANS – U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans announced that BRISSA ORTIZ ("ORTIZ"), age 19, a resident of El Paso, Texas, was sentenced on October 22, 2024 by U.S. District Judge Greg Guidry to 21 months imprisonment, a one-year term of supervised release and a $100 mandatory special assessment fee, after previously pleading guilty to Misprision of a Felony, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 4.

NEW ORLEANS, LA – United States Attorney Duane A. Evans announced that MALI WILLIAMS ("WILLIAMS"), age 26, of Violet, Louisiana, was sentenced on October 15, 2024 by United States District Judge Jay C. Zainey to 60 months of imprisonment, three (3) years of supervised release, and a $100 mandatory special assessment fee after previously pleading guilty to possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 924(c)(1)(A)(i).

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA – United States Attorney Duane A. Evans announced that DAVID RAYFORD ("RAYFORD"), age 40, of Kenner, La., was sentenced by United States District Judge Wendy B. Vitter on October 17, 2024, to one year probation, payment of a $100 mandatory special assessment fee and three hundred dollars in restitution, for Mail Theft, a violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1709.
