U.S. Attorney Josh Hurwit announced the outcomes in two separate eastern Idaho cases in which the defendants were sentenced to 15 years and 12 years in federal prison, respectively, for sex crimes against minor children.

United States Attorney Josh Hurwit announced today that multiple Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs) from around Idaho will lead the efforts of his Office in connection with the Justice Department's nationwide Election Day Program for the upcoming November 5, 2024, general election.  These AUSAs have been appointed to serve as District Election Officers (DEO) for the District of Idaho and in that capacity are responsible for overseeing the District's handling of election day complaints of voting rights concerns, threats of violence to election officials or staff, and election fraud, in consultation with Justice Department officials in Washington, D.C.
