Robert Moses, 25, of Washington, D.C., and James Mayfield, 25, of Washington, D.C., were sentenced to decades in prison for the murder of Jamahri Sydnor and wounding of three others in a daytime shooting in August 2017 in Northeast D.C. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Matthew M. Graves and Chief Pamela Smith, of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).

A North Carolina man was sentenced to prison today after he previously pleaded guilty to a felony charge related to his conduct during the Jan. 6, 2021, breach of the U.S. Capitol. His actions and the actions of others disrupted a joint session of the U.S. Congress convened to ascertain and count the electoral votes related to the 2020 presidential election.

Juan Amaya-Ramirez and Oscar Flores-Mejia pleaded guilty today in connection with the April 23, 2018 murder of 17-year-old Andy Peralta in Kissena Park in Flushing, Queens.  As part of their guilty pleas, the defendants admitted to murdering Peralta to gain entrance into MS-13.

TUCSON, Ariz. – Pedro Anival Coc-Caal, 22, of Tectitan, Huehuetenango, Guatemala, was sentenced on Tuesday by United States District Judge John C. Hinderaker to 24 months in prison. Coc-Caal pleaded guilty to Assault on a Federal Agent Inflicting Bodily Injury and Improper Entry by an Alien on June 24, 2024.

A Florida man and member of the "Proud Boys" organization pleaded guilty today to felony and misdemeanor charges stemming from his conduct during the Jan. 6, 2021, breach of the U.S. Capitol. Aaron Jackson, 31, of Washington, D.C., was sentenced today to 40 years in prison for the June 2021 stabbing death of Damohn Gill, announced U.S. Attorney Matthew M. Graves and Chief Pamela Smith, of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).

Marcus Walker, 24, of Washington, D.C., was sentenced today to 30 years in prison, by Superior Court Judge Robert Okun in the shooting death of Erik King on October 11, 2022, in Northeast Washington, D.C., announced U.S. Attorney Matthew M. Graves and Chief Pamela Smith, of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).

Leif Hayman was sentenced to the statutory maximum of 10 years in federal prison for trying to hire an undercover ATF agent to murder his girlfriend's mother for $200.
