The latest State Employment and Unemployment (Monthly) news release has been posted on the BLS website at https://www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/laus.pdf and also archived at https://www.bls.gov/news.release/archives/laus_09202024.pdf. Highlights are below. August jobless rates up in 6 states, down in 1; payroll jobs up in 4 states, down in 1 09/20/2024 In August, unemployment rates were higher in 6 states and the District of Columbia, lower in 1 state, and stable in 43 states.
