California Man Pleads Guilty to Felony Charge for Actions During Jan. 6 Capitol Breach 07/08/2024 08:00 AM EDT A California man pleaded guilty today to a felony charge stemming from his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, breach of the U.S. Capitol. His actions and the actions of others disrupted a joint session of the U.S. Congress convened to ascertain and count the electoral votes related to the 2020 presidential election. FACT SHEET: Year-to-Year Carjacking Trends for the Month of June 07/08/2024 08:00 AM EDT In June of 2023, the District of Columbia experienced 140 carjackings in that month alone. In June of this year (2024), the number of carjackings in the District is 31. That is over 100 fewer carjackings—or a 78% decrease—in June alone compared to last year.
