Lehigh Acres Man Pleads Guilty To Possessing A Firearm During Drug Transaction 09/14/2023 08:00 AM EDT Fort Myers, Florida – United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg announces that Mar'tavious Martel Brown (25, Lehigh Acres) today pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime. Brown faces a minimum mandatory penalty of five years, up to life, in federal prison. A sentencing date has not yet been set. Byron has sentenced Marquis Terrell Bryant (32, Brevard County) to 10 years in federal prison for distributing fentanyl and methamphetamine. Bryant had pleaded guilty on June 14, 2023. Marion County Man Arrested For Possession Of Child Sex Abuse Material 09/14/2023 08:00 AM EDT Ocala, Florida – United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg announces the arrest of Matthew Allen Gahan (24, Summerfield) on a criminal complaint charging him with one count of possession of child sex abuse material. If convicted, Gahan faces up to 20 years in federal prison.   Kissimmee Resident Pleads Guilty To Conspiracy To Commit Bank Fraud 09/14/2023 08:00 AM EDT Orlando, FL – United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg announces that Carlos Ferrer (46, Tampa) has pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit bank fraud. Ferrer faces a maximum penalty of 30 years in federal prison. A sentencing date has not been set. Osceola County Mortgage Loan Officer Sentenced For Bank Fraud And Aggravated Identity Theft Charges Involving Forging Of Judges' Signatures 09/14/2023 08:00 AM EDT Orlando, Florida – U.S. District Judge Paul Byron has sentenced Omayra Ujaque (52, St. Cloud) to two years and eight months in federal prison for bank fraud and aggravated identity theft. Ujaque was convicted at trial on April 13, 2023.
