Florida Men Indicted For Possession With Intent To Distribute Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, And Cocaine 09/01/2023 08:00 AM EDT Tampa, FL - United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg announces the return of an indictment charging Emmanuel Dourthe (24, Deltona) and Brendan Wells (27, Tampa) with conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute controlled substances, possession with the intent to distribute controlled substances, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. For each of the controlled substance charges, if convicted, each faces a minimum mandatory penalty of 10 years, and up to life, in federal prison. If convicted of the firearm offense, each faces a minimum mandatory of 5 years, and up to life, in federal prison to be served consecutive to any other sentence imposed. Clay County Convicted Felon Pleads Guilty To Drug And Firearm Charges 09/01/2023 08:00 AM EDT Jacksonville, Florida – United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg announces that Edward Sherwood Gustafson, IV (30, Green Cove Springs) has pleaded guilty to possessing with the intent to distribute 5 grams or more of methamphetamine and possessing a firearm and ammunition as a convicted felon. Gustafson faces a minimum mandatory term of 5 years, and up to 40 years, in federal prison on the drug charge and up to 15 years in federal prison on the firearm and ammunition charge. Gustafson also agreed to forfeit a Smith and Wesson pistol and 15 rounds of ammunition traceable to the firearm offense. Gustafson was arrested on May 9, 2023, and ordered detained.
