The United States Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Ohio is seeking attorneys with criminal litigation experience. This is an open continuous announcement which will be used to fill immediate positions. First round consideration will be given to applications received by October 12, 2023, 11:59 p.m. EST. Thereafter, review of applications received from this announcement will be conducted periodically to fill additional positions as they become available within the district.
 

This vacancy will fill positions in:

  • Cleveland, OH
  • Akron, OH
  • Toledo, OH
  • Youngstown, OH

If selected for a position in Akron, OH you may be expected to travel to Cleveland, OH for training for up to one year.

The Criminal Division is organized into six sections: General Crimes; White Collar Crimes; National Security; Violent Crimes; Narcotics/Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF); and Appellate.

Criminal Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs) prosecute federal criminal cases in the District. Criminal AUSAs advise federal law enforcement agents on criminal investigations, present criminal cases to the grand jury, try criminal cases before the United States District Court, and represent the United States in criminal appeals before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Candidates should be capable of handling a variety of significant and complex criminal prosecutions.

Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
