TPS Venezuela EADs Temporary Protected Status (TPS) Venezuela applicants and beneficiaries whose Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) were extended through September 9, 2023 under this Federal Register notice have an additional EAD extension if: Their EAD contains a category of A12 or C19 The worker provides their employer with a receipt notice (I-797C) for an application for a new EAD (Form I-765) that lists: A category code of A12 or C19; and A "Received Date" between September 10, 2022 and October 26, 2023. Such EADs are valid for up to 540 days from the expiration date listed on the EAD. Reminders: Workers can provide their choice of valid documentation when completing the Form I-9, including when an employer is reverifying someone's continued permission to work. Employers aren't allowed to reject valid documentation for the Form I-9 or ask for additional or specific Form I-9 documentation, based on someone's citizenship, immigration status, or national origin. Doing so might violate the Immigration and Nationality Act's anti-discrimination provision. Call the Immigrant and Employee Rights Section at 1-800-255-7688 if you have questions.
