Protecting employee benefit plan assets A federal judge has issued a preliminary injunction against the fiduciaries of a Chicago-based multiple employer welfare arrangement to protect the fund's remaining assets after a department investigation alleged its fiduciaries and counsel misused more than $2.8 million in fund assets, and that they continue to mismanage the fund. Funding available to support disabled youth employment We're making more than $69 million available over a five-year budget period to help connect young people with disabilities to good jobs. $712K to resolve discrimination allegations We've entered into a conciliation agreement with a Raytheon subsidiary to resolve alleged discrimination against Black applicants for assembler positions at a Minnesota facility. Rosemount Aerospace has agreed to pay $712,500 in back wages and interest to the affected applicants. The company will also make employment offers to 26 identified class members. An essential safety net The Department of Labor is committed to strengthening our unemployment insurance system and protecting workers. Cybersecurity investment We've received $15.2 million to strengthen IT security, protecting the people who rely on us for critical information and services. Fatality findings OSHA investigators found an Ohio foundry failed to follow required safety procedures, leading to a steam explosion that killed one worker and injured 15.
