Family searching for Bronx grandmother last seen in July 2021
62-year-old Elena De La Cruz was last seen on security footage leaving her Bronx, New York apartment building on July 10, 2021. The Bronx-based grandmother had been previously diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. The New York Police Department is investigating.

A Florida man who knew her has been charged in her murder, police said this week. The woman had been known for decades only as the "Nation River Lady" after her remains were found in 1975.
