AUSA 06/08/2023 11:09 AM EDT USAO Eastern District of Texas U.S. Department of Justice Beaumont, Texas Application Deadline: June 22, 2023 The United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Texas is seeking to hire an experienced attorney to work in the Beaumont/Tyler/Plano/Sherman office, dedicated to investigating and prosecuting fraud against Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act Programs, including the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and the Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program. The successful applicant will be expected to partner with various agencies, including but not limited to the Small Business Administration, to determine indicators of fraud and prosecute civil actions and aggressively seek recovery of fraudulently obtained funds through negotiations and filing of lawsuits as necessary. As workload permits, the applicant may assist the Eastern District of Texas Civil Division in handling civil defensive matters on behalf of the United States including immigration, employment discrimination claims, bankruptcy litigation and affirmative civil enforcement matters. The ideal applicant will have a background or experience in one or more of criminal prosecution, investigations, affirmative civil enforcement, or commercial litigation. This is a three year term position not to exceed 9/30/2026. This position is open to any United States citizen to apply..
