The office is interviewing for one (1) Assistant United States Attorney in the Appellate Division of the United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Arkansas to represent the United States in a wide range of unique and complex cases, including cases involving constitutional challenges, statutory issues, sentencing challenges, habeas litigation, and appeals from trials.

The Appellate Division AUSA will brief and argue cases before the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, provide litigation support to the office's Criminal and Civil Divisions, and draft recommendations for Department of Justice Officials.  

Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as the selected attorney's training and experience progress.

All initial attorney appointments to the Department of Justice are made on a 14-month (temporary) basis pending favorable adjudication of background investigation.
