ASSISTANT ATTORNEY GENERAL VI - CORRECTIONAL LITIGATION DIVISION​

 Job Title:  Assistant Attorney General VI   Position Type: Regular Full Time

Salary: $82,399 - $127,637  The salary range is based on a multitude of factors including applicable personnel rules, regulations and guidelines.

 Location:  Office of the Attorney General, Department of Public Safety & Correctional Services  200 St. Paul Place, Baltimore, Maryland

Telework Status:  A hybrid remote telework and in-office schedule option may be available per OAG's policies and procedures.

Description: The Assistant Attorney General will represent the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services and its employees in a variety of civil lawsuits primarily involving prisoners' lawsuits filed in federal district court concerning federal constitutional and statutory rights, the American Disabilities Act, and RLUIPA. The duties will include all aspects of defense litigation, independently handling cases, working alongside other attorneys, writing briefs, taking and defending depositions, and appearing in court. The position entails some appellate practice. Prior experience with correctional litigation matters or civil rights matters preferred.
