3 ways to celebrate National Nutrition Month® with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans resources for nutrition and health professionals National Nutrition Month® is an annual campaign created by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics that is now in its 50th year! During the month of March, everyone is invited to learn about making informed food choices and developing healthful eating and physical activity habits. This week's National Nutrition Month® message is to eat a variety of foods from all food groups. Eating a variety of foods from each food group is important because people consume foods in various combinations, which makes up a person's dietary pattern. The evidence underpinning the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2020-2025 shows that the foods and beverages that make up a healthy dietary pattern are remarkably consistent and include nutrient-dense choices from each of the food groups. To help promote the importance of healthy eating, we invite you to plan a presentation, share print materials, or use graphics to emphasize the importance of healthy dietary patterns—including a variety of foods from all food groups—at every stage of life. It's never too early or too late to eat healthfully! 1. Plan a presentation Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2020-2025 presentation slides are available for your download and use. Host your own presentation on healthy eating across life stages or for a specific life stage, including infants and toddlers, children and adolescents, adults, people who are pregnant or lactating, and older adults. Feel free to adapt the presentation to best suit your intended audience!
2. Share print materials Meeting with patients or clients or holding a community event? Use our print materials—available in both English and Spanish—to start a conversation about how to build a healthy eating routine at each life stage. - Use our Customizing the Dietary Guidelines handout (English | Spanish) to help "meet people where they are" and learn about their preferences within each food group.

3. Use graphics Whether you're creating your own handout, presentation, social media post, or flyer, figures—available in both English and Spanish—from the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2020-2025 can help you: - Demonstrate the health impact of healthy eating at every life stage. (English | Spanish)
