New Insider Threat Content is now available!

Good afternoon, Each month, CDSE's Insider Threat Division will highlight current job aids and case studies for learning, professional development and for use as teaching tools for your insider threat programs. This month's feature is the Insider Threat and Extremist Activity within  DOD job aid and a case study on Ahmedelhadi Serageldin. It explains the stages of violent extremist behavior, the types of associated activities, and describes the role of disinformation, misinformation, and social engineering in violent extremism. Ahmedelhadi Serageldin's case study reports how the former Raytheon company contractor working for the U.S. Government was sentenced to 18 months in prison for downloading hundreds of documents and storing them on an external hard drive in violation of Raytheon's security and document control policies. In May 2017, the FBI searched Serageldin's house, vehicle and person. After misleading investigators and attempting to erase his computer, he pled guilty to one count of willfully retaining national defense information.
