The latest Union Membership (Annual) news release has been posted on the BLS website at https://www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/union2.pdf and also archived at https://www.bls.gov/news.release/archives/union2_01202022.pdf. Highlights are below. Union membership rate 10.3% in 2021, down from 10.8% in 2020 but the same as in 2019 01/20/2022 The number of wage and salary workers belonging to unions declined by 241,000 to 14.0 million in 2021.
