One year into the Biden-Harris administration, employment is up and workers are protected On the one-year anniversary of the Biden-Harris administration, Secretary Walsh reflected on 12 months of progress for America's workers. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT Overtime recovered We recovered $270,984 in back wages and damages for 166 workers after the West Virginia skilled nursing care facility that employed them failed to pay overtime as required by law. Advancing equity We're advancing equity in unemployment insurance with data and new partnerships. We're listening The Wage and Hour Division has held listening sessions across the country to get feedback on fulfilling its mission of protecting essential workers. HIRE roundtable The Hiring Initiative to Reimagine Equity launched with a roundtable discussion reflecting on the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Heat hazards OSHA cited a Florida company for exposing workers to heat hazards after a worker died clearing brush in Apalachicola National Forest with temperatures near 100 degrees.
