The United States Attorney's Office for the Western District of Kentucky is seeking applications from experienced litigators for an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) in the Criminal Division. Assistant United States Attorneys assigned to the Criminal Division prosecute federal criminal cases, such as fraud, public corruption, money laundering, immigration offenses, economic crime, narcotics offenses, firearms violations and violent crimes. Responsibilities include grand jury, trial, and appellate practices. The attorney selected will primarily be dedicated to federal criminal fraud cases such as corporate fraud, tax and other regulatory fraud, securities fraud, bank fraud, identity theft, and other complex criminal offenses.
This is a temporary appointment, not-to-exceed one year. This position may be extended or made permanent without further competition.
