South Florida Tax Preparer Sentenced in COVID-19 Fraud Scheme 11/17/2021 12:00 AM EST A South Florida tax preparer was sentenced today to 24 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for carrying out a scheme to fraudulently obtain over 100 COVID-19 relief loans under the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). He was also ordered to pay over $1 million in restitution.
