The primary responsibilities of the Supervisory Attorney Advisor is to ensure that processes are in place to facilitate legal compliance and mitigate risk to the DEA. As part of its responsibilities, the Policy Administration Section focuses on the following activities:
- Ensure that all DEA policy accurately reflects existing federal law, regulation, and Department of Justice policy;
- Assist with the formulation of DEA policy;
- Provide administrative oversight for the formulation of new policy and the revision of existing DEA policy;
- Maintain DEA's internal vetting and approval workflow processes, and
- Maintain and manage DEA's Policy Portal, a single searchable policy portal for all DEA policy.
