Tense school board meeting follows Southlake administrator's Holocaust remark
At a tense and emotional school board meeting Monday night in Southlake, Texas, residents condemned the guidance of an administrator who told teachers to offer students books balancing the Holocaust with "opposing" views. "The facts are that there are not two sides," said Jake Berman, a Jewish former student who said the remark exposed the problem with new laws that require teachers to offer multiple perspectives when talking about racism and other "controversial" subjects.
