Here's the latest on that and everything else we're watching this Tuesday morning. Minneapolis residents are grappling with how to vote on Nov. 2 in a ballot initiative to replace the city's police department with a Department of Public Safety.
The proposal is one of the first major tests of the national police reform movement since George Floyd's death last year.
And it has divided the community, including those who had been allied in calling for police reform after Floyd was killed by former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin.
Proponents say that the racial reckoning sparked by Floyd's death demands a radical change, while opponents say the wording of the proposed measure is too vague and raises more questions than answers.
